Short link is very useful when you use a source like Twitter to promote your post. In twitter, you can use only 140 characters. A lengthy permalink may eat up the number of characters.

It is very easy to get the short link in Wordpress. In Wordpress self hosted sites, when you create a post, you may see the permalink right below the title of the box. Near it, there is Get Shortlink button. When you click it, an automatically generated short link pops up and you can copy and paste it.

 In blogger, you can click the link icon that you see in the right hand side of a new post template. There is an option for custom permalink and you can create a short link using it. 

Any URL can be shortened using Google URL Shortener. The URL it has is also curious. Simply goo.gl

You can find the permalink of any webpage in the address bar when you are in that web page. If you want to link that page somewhere you should use this permalink.

How to recover a deleted blog post

You may delete a blog post by mistake. Blogger does not provide facilities to undelete or to recover your item. There seems only one option now available to recover it.

You may find other options in internet. But they do not appear to work properly in new blogger platform.

The only option available is to find a cached copy of your post in Google. This is possible only if your blog post is indexed in the google search.

Open a Google search page and type  the following:

site:yourblog.com the title of your blog post
 
If you can see the article in search result, click the downward arrow which can be seen immediately after the green color address.

Fill in the red parts with your information.

How to find your blogger blog ID

To find blog ID in Blogger

1. Go to your Blogger home page. It is also called dashboard. 
2. Now you may see the names of your blogs. Of which blog do you want to find the blog ID? Click on that blog name.
3. Now look at the address bar. The number which follows 'blogID=' is your blog ID. 

The address may look like this:
http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1234567890123456#overview/src=dashboard

The number similar to one in red color is your blog ID.
