Sri Lanka's murder suspect MP granted leave for three months by parliament

Sri Lanka parliament approved three months leave to the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Duminda Silva.

This is the third consecutive three months leave approved to MP Duminda Silva and the leave is to be active since June 24.

Silva sustained severe injuries at a shoot out in Kaduwela on October 08, 2011. President Mahinda Rajapaksa's oficial Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra and several others was killed in the incident.

The duo reportedly clashed as the polling of the local government election was under way and Duminda Silva is under arrest warrants in suspicion for the killing of Bhratha Lakshman Premachandra and others. Silva is reportedly being treated in a hospital in Singapore.
