Thissa Aththanayaka with his daughter Dulmini who became popular overnight after father was arrested under suspicion of forging documents |
UNP did not conduct a proper disciplinary probe regarding Thissa Aththanayaka who joined the Rajapaksha regime expressing support to Presidential candidate Mahinda Rajapaksha during the former President's campaign for third election.
UNP was supporting Maithripala Sirisena who eventually won the Presidential.
Aththanayaka was sworn in as Minister of Health and probe is underway against former President Mahinda Rajapaksha by Bribery or Corruption Commission over a complaint that it was a bribe. However, the cohort MPs of Rajapaksha held an overnight protest in the parliamentary well demanding the former President not summoned to the Bribery Commission. Later the Commission stated they would record the statement at Mahinda's residence.
Aththanayaka is also accused of forging documents with the signatures of UNP leader Ranil Wickramasinghe after joining the government.

People will expel him if he contests again and that will be the supreme expulsion.
I strongly agree with the comment of Anonymous. UNP should not get excited over this court ruling. Just let him be in UNP, but NO TICKET at the forthcoming general election niether a ticket from the national list!!! That should be your destiny, Tissa for the supreme betrayal you commited for the people of the country.
