Two employees of Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha were arrested today by police as they were transporting an electrical generator belonged to the local government illegally to be used in a ceremony held under the patronage of former President Mahinda Rajapaksha.
The generator was being transported to a temple of Pelawaththa in Kalutara district. Mahinda Rajapaksha is to attend a ceremony in the temple in Pelawaththa.
The suspects said to police that they were transporting the generator under instructions of the Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha.
The Chairman of Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabha Udeni Athukorala is a supporter of Mahinda Rajapaksha. He was recently arrested when soliciting a bribe from Chairman of Benthota Pradeshiya Sabha over a deal for soil transportation. The case is pending but his Chairman position was intact due to blessing of Rajapakshas.

MR regime lasted 10 years and well operated with henchmen at every corner. Such a strong network can not be destroyed by defeating MR alone. His clan needs the same sentence in the General Election.
