* Mahinda Rajapaksa to form New Sri Lanka Freedom Party

Mahinda Rajapaksa campaign politician Wimal Weerawansa's website Lanka C News reported today that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would form a new political party as New Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

The symbol of the new party is Wee Karala (pod of rice).

The website reported that about 100 MPs of present parliament have agreed to contest under the new party.
