The Swiss national suspect who engaged in the group rape and killing of the underage girl has been identified as Mahalingam Rishikumar (41).
The suspect who hailed from Kaits was temporarily residing in Wellawatta. He was arrested while attempting to return to Switzerland secretly.
Rishikumar belongs to the generation of Sri Lankan Tamils who sought political asylum in Europe stating that they are discriminated by Sri Lankan government and military.
